OKX US to retire USD order books on Sept. 30 and cancel remaining orders and trading bots
OKX US will retire selected USD order books on Sept. 30, canceling open orders and bots on the affected pairs and selling Grid and Smart Portfolio positions.
Why it matters
Traders who leave orders on the retiring pairs lose them in the 3 to 4 a.m. Eastern window, and Grid and Smart Portfolio positions are sold without the holder picking the moment, so the one-hour window before retirement decides whether a bot is stopped or liquidated. Beyond this single exchange's pair migration the reach is limited, and the evidence does not name which pairs are affected.

What happened
CryptoSlate, citing an OKX US customer notice, reported that the exchange will retire selected USD order books between 3 and 4 a.m. Eastern time on Sept. 30, which it puts at 7 to 8 a.m. UTC, and cancel every open order and trading bot still running on the affected pairs. The same notice says positions in Grid and Smart Portfolio bots on those pairs will be sold, while positions in DCA, Recurring Buy and TWAP/Iceberg bots will be held, so Grid and Smart Portfolio holders face a sale they did not choose. USDC versions of the affected pairs have been available beside the USD pairs since Sept. 23, and OKX US says orders and bots created on the USDC pairs during that parallel window keep running after the migration. OKX's migration schedule says bots on the retiring pairs may close gradually across the retirement hour and the USD pairs are delisted at 8 a.m. UTC. CryptoSlate did not name the affected pairs, and the set contains no second report of the retirement. Bitcoinist, the only other outlet in the set, covered a separate OKX action, the Sept. 28 listing of Doppler Finance's XDP token, and did not mention the order book retirement, so the deadline details rest on one outlet.
